Wisconsin After 3
"Wisconsin After 3" is the statewide after-school program at Boys & Girls Clubs across Wisconsin, focusing on improving academic, social, and employment skills for low-income youth, with a particular focus on study habits, tutoring, mentoring and career exploration.
Every Club participates, using evidence informed programs such as NBA Math Hoops, Power Hour, Career Launch, DIY STEM and Brain Gain.
Some fun factoids from the 2023-24 school year
Clubs tracked 279,377 homework assignments/high yield learning activities being completed
There were 183,627 total Power Hour sessions attended by kids and teens
A whopping 91% of Math Hoops participants demonstrated improved math fluency
There were 142,433 reading sessions completed
525 youth attended 4,725 career readiness sessions, with 81% demonstrating enhanced career interests and plans
During school, a monthly average of 2,610 youth received regular homework help or academic enrichment sessions

Wisconsin After 3 also aims to expose youth to various career options and role models, helping them envision their future paths. We want club members prepared for their first job, whether it is right out of high school or med school.
